How many years have you been in business?
How old is your business?
54 years old
What is a big success in your business thus far?
I am more comfortable with speaking to women that I don’t know about my Mary Kay business.
What made you start your business?
I have been a customer of Mary Kay for years and I decided to become an entrepreneur and share the product with other women, plus to make it easier to have the products on hand for my personal use.

My business is on social media:
How do you market your business for people to build awareness?
I use social media, email, and word of mouth by current customers.
When you started what sacrifices did you make to move your business forward?
I went to monthly meetings and spent own money to purchase products to have at home to be easily accessible for customers.
Do you have any advice for a budding entrepreneur?
You have to keep at it. Do not stop, with all the no’s you may get, you will get a yes. Don’t take it personal. If you don’t get someone to purchase from you, it is not personal. It may be that they cannot make the purchase right now. Stay true to yourself and don’t deviate from your mission.

I see that I am a Team Leader within Mary Kay and producing a revenue every month.
What are your goals for the next 5 years in your business?
Within the next 5 years I see myself as a Director within Mary Kay and being an encourager to other new entrepreneurs in the business.
What are the new things people can expect in your business?
I will be participating in more vendor events and meeting many more beautiful women showcasing the new charcoal masks and the vitamin C serum packs.
Is there anything you’d like people to know about your business?
The Mary Kay culture is built on God first, family second then business. This acumen shows how each Independent Consultant should treat their business and have some sentiment of work – life – balance. Your business can’t be successful if your relationship with God is not in order and your family life is disarray. This makes me proud to be sell a product that reinforces how I want to live my life.
